I have been looking to improve my knowledge about the R230 version of the Mercedes SL cars. This book has been extremely useful to me and contains many pertinent facts and things to be aware of for each specific model year of the R230 series. It has steered me away from certain model years and towards other model years. Very well done. The driving experience starting on page 138 took me away. The words were pure perfection. I recently acquired one of these amazing soon to be historically significant machines. The world will wake up and realize this. These unbelievable low market values for these V12 Gentle Giants will be very short lived. Remember when an SL300 Gull Wing was just another worn out used car. Can you say 1.5 million dollars today. Get yours while you can. Those who truly love automobiles will Never Regret It! Note: Look at the ridiculously low production numbers for SL600's. I.E. 2008, 216. 2009 50! 2010 25!! And believe it or not 2011 ONLY 8 WERE MADE! It's in this good book pages 224 & 225. BUY ONE OR MORE NOW!

This book is a great source of information and commentary on the Mercedes-Benz R230 SL roadster. It's a must have for any enthusiast. The details on production numbers and options is very interesting, as is the history of the model and the marque. My only complaint is in the overall quality of the printing for the price. It looks like it was printed on a consumer grade inn jet printer and self-bound.

This was the Kindle version and I was disappointed that the photos were not larger so I could view the details. Perhaps the paper copy was of sufficient size. The book is loaded with interesting information on the R230 SL lineage and esoteric mods that have been built over the years. Still, it's a pretty good read.

Why not 5 stars? This is my first review so I do want to start with 5. The book is imformative. Not too long, but now I know the problematic issues and one can search for more info on them.If you are interested in buying such car this is a good starting point.It was also nice to read about the development.

I have had a few MB just got my first SL. I was curious about the legacy and history and found these books on amazon. I bought and read all 3 fabulous reading lots of interesting history I would never find anywhere else. Thank you!!!

Excellent and concise volume with much useful information. Just acquired one of these models and found the book to be very well done.
